Opportunities: Atlanta Community Food Bank
The Atlanta Community Food Bank addresses the dual problems of food waste and hunger by redistributing good but unmarketable food to not-for-profit agencies serving the needy in North Georgia. The Food Bank collects, inspects, sorts, and packages food, annually distributing over 16 million pounds of food.
Volunteer Opportunities Include:
- sorting food items
- sorting donated school supplies to be distributed free to low-income schools
- assisting with community gardening
- and serving as an office assistant.
